Choral Canada and Choirs Ontario are taking steps to make their programs more accessible and equitable. For that reason, we are very pleased to announce that, for the first time, we are able to offer:
- ten (10) scholarships to the PODIUM 2022 in-person Conference and Festival
- ten (10) scholarships to the PODIUM 2022 virtual Conference and Festival

- Anyone can apply if they have financial need and are a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or a protected person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada)

- COMMITMENT TO ACCESS
- Applicants who identify as a member of a racialized group* and/or as an Indigenous person will be prioritized.
- Applicants who are attending Podium for the first time will be prioritized.
- We recognize that for the in-person conference, travel and accommodations can also be a financial barrier. At this time, we are not able to offer financial assistance to scholarship recipients but we are committed to expanding our scholarship program for future editions of Podium.

- The names of the applicants and recipients will not be publicized
- EVALUATION CRITERIA
- We offer a short application process in order to make it easier to access funding with as many minimal barriers as possible.
- Applications will be evaluated based on the potential for the scholarship to have a meaningful impact on the applicant’s life/career, as well as on those in their choral/group singing community (if applicable). Applicants will not be required to provide information about their financial needs. We invite applicants to decide for themselves if they are eligible for this scholarship.
- The small group evaluating the applications is made up of individuals on the PODIUM 2022 Planning Committee.
- HOW TO APPLY
- Send 750 written words maximum, or a two-minute video or voice note to Meghan Hila, Executive Director of Choral Canada at info@choralcanada.org
- State if you are applying for an in-person or virtual PODIUM 2022 scholarship
- State how many times you have attended the Podium conference as a delegate
- State if you are a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a protected person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada)
- (Optional) State if you identify as a member of a racialized community* and/or as an Indigenous person
- Share how participating in PODIUM 2022, either in-person or virtually, would have a meaningful impact on your life/career, as well as on those in your choral/group singing community (if applicable)
- CURRENT DELEGATES
- If you are already registered as a delegate, you are welcome to apply for this scholarship. If you are selected, you will receive a full refund on your Conference Pass and Festival tickets/pass.
