A Re-Imagined Podium Program

Commitment to an Inclusive Vision
PODIUM is excited to highlight a mosaic of singing group videos that are reflective of the rich musical traditions spanning across the country. We encourage submissions from groups of all experience levels and traditions. Similarly, PODIUM is committed to cultivating an inclusive and equitable environment through music and reserves the right to omit any video submission that does not align with PODIUM 2022’s theme of reimagining, rebuilding, and reconnecting through a welcoming learning and creating environment.
We understand “singing groups” to encompass the many and varied ways that people choose to gather to sing together, including but not limited to choirs, improvisation practices, popular and/or culturally-specific vocal genres, and groups that sing for reasons related to community-building, therapy, advocacy, and cultural expression and transmission.

Call for Submissions
New to the 2022 PODIUM conference and festival, the Cameo Concert Project highlights more singing groups than any previous PODIUM by curating a public playlist of video submissions from groups across the country.
The playlist also doubles as an online songbook and education tool with each video including repertoire/publishing information. We invite you to #ShareYourSong through a wide array of submissions including, but not limited to, recording projects created throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, live performance recordings, classroom rehearsal footage, video montages, lyric videos, and community song sharing sessions. Accepted submissions may also be shared through curated and themed playlists, on social media, and during the hybrid conference.
